Grant applications for local projects and programs are available at the Les Cheneaux Community Foundation's new office inside Les Cheneaux Community Schools, and the Les Cheneaux Welcome Center in Cedarville. This is the ninth year the Community Foundation will award grants to local organizations for the benefit of the community.

Applications submitted by nonprofit organizations will be accepted through Friday, November 13, with grants to be awarded in December. Grants are not normally made for operating expenses, annual fundraising campaigns, political campaigns, loans, sectarian purposes, or deficit funding. Grants also will not be made directly to individuals.

Projects that will benefit young people in Les Cheneaux will be reviewed and recommended for grants by the Les Cheneaux Youth Advisory Committee.

Completed applications should be submitted to the Community Foundation office at the school or mailed to P.O. Box 249, Cedarville, MI, 49719, no later than 4 p.m. Friday, November 13. For more information, contact Diane Teeter at the Community Foundation at 484- 2256, extension 215.
