The Rudyard Township Planning Commission is hosting a public hearing Tuesday, October 27, at 7 p.m. at the Rudyard Community Center to facilitate a discussion on amending the township wind ordinance enacted in July 2008. The discussion will focus on setbacks, noise, and turbine decommission policies for commercial wind turbines. The definitions of participating and non-participating property owners with, or adjacent to, properties with turbines will also be discussed.

Studies are underway to determine the feasibility of developing wind farms in the area.
