Leo Blank
Leo R. Blank, 70, of East Lake, died at his home early Tuesday morning, October 13, 2009, following a heart attack.
He was born in Chicago December 6, 1938, and grew up in White Cloud. He was the son of Roy and Helen (nee Thompson) Blank.
Mr. Blank was graduated from White Cloud High School and apprenticed for a year as an electrician. He retired after 30 years from Delphi in Grand Rapids. He lived in Grand Rapids and Cedar Springs area most of his life, and built a home on East Lake, moving there in May 2009.
He loved to fish, hunt, and spend time outdoors. He enjoyed riding his all terrain vehicle.
After his wife, Immogene, died in 1992, Mr. Blank married Dee Klenk June 14, 2008.
Mr. Blank is survived by his wife, Dee; a son, Phillip Blank of Brevort Lake; a daughter and her family, Pam and Russ Dahl of Cedar Springs; two stepsons and their families, Jeremy and Tracy Marshall of Durand, and Jacob Marshall of Corunna; a stepdaughter, Jessica Marshall of Swartz Creek; a special sister-in-law and her family, Lucy and George Cordts of Fremont; nine grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
A service will take place Friday, November 6, at 1 p.m., at the Hessel-Cheslek Funeral Home in Sparta, with a lunch following.
Memorials may be directed to the Mackinac County Animal Shelter with envelopes available from Dodson Funeral Home of St. Ignace, which assisted the family with arrangements.
