Rexton-Garnet
The cold October rains will be giving way all too soon to the November winds and snowfall. The quiet in the Upper Peninsula has settled upon us like a light blanket. For some, a respite from the hectic days of summer, and for others, a time to catch up on the jobs put aside for a less busy time, if there ever is one.
This past week saw all activities at Engadine Consolidated Schools come to a halt owing to the large number of students being ill. School is open again this week.
There will be a fish fry Friday, October 30, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Veterans Hall in Engadine to benefit the preschool program. It will feature fresh whitefish. Cost is by donation.
Continued get well wishes to Ben Maison, who had the misfortune of being under the pile of players at the football game against Rapid River Friday, October 16. Ben will be off his leg for quite some time.
