Engadine & Gould City

Hello, everyone. It's hard to believe it's November already. The cold, wet weather continues and we all know what is around the corner.

There will be a benefit breakfast for the Engadine preschool program Saturday, November 7, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Veterans Hall in Engadine. Cost is by donation. The breakfast is sponsored by the Engadine Naubinway Lions Club.

The second annual spaghetti dinner and silent auction, to raise money for the Newberry High School Spanish students to go to Puerto Rico, will be Saturday, November 7, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Newberry Elks Lodge. There will be door prizes as well as raffles. Cost is $10 for adults and $7 for children 12 and younger.

The Three Lakes Area Education Committee is sponsoring a Christmas wreath sale. Wreaths will be ready for pick-up before Thanksgiving. All proceeds will benefit the Three Lakes Cooperative Preschool, Three Lakes Academy, and programs sponsored by the Three Lakes Area Education Committee. There will be a benefit spaghetti meal for Sophia Marie Stephenson Saturday, November 14, at 2 p.m. at the VFW Hall on Maple Street in Manistique. Sophia was born September 9, 2009, weighing just 1 pound, 6 ounces Sophia's parents are Earl “Junior” and Cindy (nee Montgomery) Stephenson. There will be music, an auction, and raffles. Donations of items would be appreciated. Cost is $5 for adults and $2.50 for children 12 and younger. For more information, or to make a donation, call (906) 286-1495.

There will be a hunters dinner and bake sale Sunday, November 15, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Engadine Veterans Hall. Cost is $8.50 for adults, $3 for children age five to 12, and free for children younger than age five. The dinner is sponsored by the VFW Auxiliary 8372 of Engadine.

There will be an all-you-can-eat hunters dinner Monday, November 16, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Garfield Township Hall in Engadine. Cost is $8.50 for adults and $3 for children age five to 12. The dinner is sponsored by the Engadine United Methodist Church.
