The lights flickered, the rain came down, but at the end of the game, the varsity football players still beat the Rogers City Hurons by a score of 32-6 Friday night, and at the end, all of Rudyard’s lights went out. The rain and the wind knocked the whole town out of power, but the lights on the field stayed on as players, family, and friends rejoiced in a victory.
There was an adult Halloween party Saturday, October 31, at the Rudyard Community Center. Mark Besteman, who is in charge of the fire department, organized the event with fellow fire department workers. Entertainment was provided by a local Rudyard band, “Kick Start.” Door prizes from local businesses were given out, as approximately 95 people came together to have a fun night.
The Great Start Parent Coalition will host a work bee Saturday, November 21, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Pure Country restaurant in Rudyard. All parents involved in the Parent Coalition are invited. The purpose of the work bee is to update next year's goals plan sheets for the coalition and also its brochure. These two items should be made up of our parents’ suggestions and opinions.

The school play will begin Thursday, November 12, at 7:30 p.m. “The Boy Friend” should be a huge event as the students have been working very hard on the play.
Until next week, please e-mail me with any community news you would like to get out to the public.
