Huyck Brothers Earn Military Promotions
Brothers (from left) Nicholas Huyck, Daniel Huyck, and Jason Huyck are all members of the United States Army National Guard. Jason Huyck was recently promoted from specialist to sergeant and Daniel Huyck was promoted from captain to major. They are the sons of Marion Hank of Sault Ste. Marie and Bernard Huyck of Pickford.
Specialist Jason Huyck has been promoted to sergeant and Captain Daniel Huyck has been promoted to major.
Sergeant Jason Huyck is currently serving with the 1437th Engineer Company in Sault Ste. Marie. He is in training for deployment to Afghanistan in November. He was graduated from Cedarville High School and is employed with the state of Michigan. He lives in Sault Ste. Marie with his wife, Samantha, and their daughter, Cassandra.
Major Daniel Huyck was graduated from Cedarville High School. He was graduated from Northern Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science degree in secondary education in 1999, received his law degree from the University of Minnesota in 2008, and a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Oklahoma in 2009.
Major Huyck is the company commander of the Minnesota Army National Guard 175th Forward Support Company in Appleton, Minnesota. He is currently in active duty in Kuwait. He resides in Robbinsdale, Minnesota, with his wife, Amanda, and daughter, Arianna.
Major Huyck and Sergeant Huyck are the sons of Marion Hank of Sault Ste. Marie and Bernard Huyck of Pickford, and the grandsons of William and Dorothy Skinner of Pickford.
Their brother, Specialist Nicholas Huyck, is serving with the 1437th Engineering Company in Sault Ste. Marie.
