Nathan Hatch Nathan Hatch Seaman Nathan Hatch was named September Employee of the Month for United States Coast Guard Station St. Ignace.

Seaman Hatch has shown dedication to the station’s financial responsibilities for the Fiscal Year 2009 closeout, managing the budget for the station, housing, and Aids to Navigation. He maintained all three accounts before the end of the fiscal year deadline, reported Executive Petty Officer Jonathan Tracy.

He was also the property custodian, responsible for the account of all of the station’s property, with no discrepancies.

In the summer of 2007 he became a Petty Officer 3rd Class and was stationed in St. Ignace. After serving in St. Ignace, he plans to pursue a degree in logistics management.

Recently Seaman Hatch volunteered his off-duty time to help with fingerprinting for child identification cards at Super Saturday at Little Bear East Arena in St. Ignace.

“I do volunteer work in the community when I can afford the time, and believe in finding positive things to do to benefit myself and others,” said Seaman Hatch.

He enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. His hobbies include building custom computer systems for himself and others, and working with all types of electronics. He also enjoys outdoor activities.
