The varsity football team and half the school went on the road Friday, November 6, as school was dismissed early so that all students and staff could attend the second round of football playoff games for the district title. The varsity team put out its best effort, but it wasn't enough, as they lost 54 to 8 in the second round. The boys stayed the night in Traverse City and came home to find the fire department, family, and friends escorting them into town and congratulating them on a great effort.

Mable Fountain just got back from a wonderful trip to Florida. She started her trip by going downstate, when her son, Donald, asked her if she would like to take a trip to Florida to see family and friends. She was gone for a month, and enjoyed visiting her family and friends. She returned about two weeks ago. She says that she missed her family here, and the girls from the Red Card Club. I asked her what that is and learned that it is a group of retired ladies who play cards. They get together every two weeks at a different person’s house and play cards.

Mr. Eric Feldhusen is the advisor and Eric Davis is the club president. The club has 10 members meeting Mondays after school and according to Mr. Davis, members are welcome to join them.

The musical “The Boy Friend” will be presented Thursday, November 12, through Sunday, November 15, at 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, and 2:30 p.m. Sunday, at the Rudyard Multi-use Facility. Rehearsals have been coming along and the students have been working hard. This is a romantic spoof of 1920s musical comedies.
