Shoemaker Yaleet donated 100 pairs of women's footwear, through Watson's of Pickford, to be given to women in need at the Peppler Center in Sault Ste. Marie Thursday, October 15. The Diane Peppler Center gave away 100 pairs of women's shoes at its Portage Avenue location in Sault Ste. Marie Thursday morning, October 15. The shoes were provided by Yaleet, Inc. of Israel via Watson's Shoe Store in Pickford, which sells the footwear.

Store owner Bill McDowell said the overseas shoemaker has been donating footwear to people in need since 1991. He said his Yaleet sales representative approached him with the promotion idea and he appreciated the opportunity to help.

"It always makes you feel good to be able to give back to the community," Mr. McDowell said.
