Hanson To Visit Engadine, Discuss China Mission Work

Jeanette Hanson, a mission worker in China, will visit Wildwood Mennonite Church on Sandtown Road in Engadine Saturday, November 21, and Sunday, November 22.

"Tea: China style," a program for women and girls, will be Saturday, November 21, at 1 p.m. There will be an opportunity to sample Chinese tea and snack food, learn about Chinese character brush calligraphy, and hear stories of women, culture, and Mrs. Hanson’s experiences in China.

She will lead the service Sunday morning, November 22, at 11 a.m., titled "Uncommon Service." The church will take its annual World Missions offering during the service. A soup and bread lunch will follow. The public is invited to join all of these events.

Mrs. Hanson and her husband, Todd Hanson, serve with the Mennonite Partners in China program in Nanchong. They provide a Christian presence as well as English instruction in a university setting. Mr. Hanson teaches composition, literature, and intercultural communication. She works with local government departments and churches to establish social welfare projects. Their home congregation is Tiefen - grund Rosenort Mennonite Church in Laird, Saskatchewan.
