Saints, Trojans To Play in Second ‘Hooping for a Cure’ Game
The St. Ignace Saints and Cedarville Trojans girls basketball teams will compete in the second annual "Hooping for a Cure – Make it Possible" benefit game for the oncology department at Mackinac Straits Hospital Tuesday, February 23, 2010.
Coach Dorene Ingalls and her Saints and Coach Sonja Duncan and her Trojans will wear pink and black uniforms to signify the benefit. The game raised $10,000 last year.
Uniform sponsorships can be purchased for $100 each and sponsorships to honor loved ones for $15 each from Kathy Marshall at St. Ignace Area Schools at 643-8145. T-shirts will be available for $10 after January 15 at the A&I Locker Room, St. Ignace/First National Bank Drive- In, and Upper Peninsula State Credit Union in St. Ignace.
There will be a 50/50 raffle and silent auction. Donations for the auction may be dropped off at First National Bank Drive-In. The St. Ignace Kiwanis Club will hold a tailgate picnic before the game in the LaSalle High School cafeteria, with proceeds going to the fundraiser.
