Team DeTour Bouwma was a winning team in the Middle School Quiz Bowl District competition. Twelve teams of seventh and eighth grade students from schools throughout the Eastern Upper Peninsula gathered at the Cedarville Middle School Wednesday, November 4, for a district playoff of the Junior High Quiz Bowl, sponsored locally by Consolidated Community School Services. The teams were divided into two pools with round robin competition in each pool. The top team from each pool won a spot at the Junior High Quiz Upper Peninsula Finals, which will be Saturday, December 5, at Bark River-Harris High School. Rudyard Orange and DeTour Bouwma both finished first in their pools and will proceed to the Upper Peninsula Finals.
