LaVake Takes First in State P-P-K Contest

St. Ignace Athlete Top in Age Division

Morgan LaVake, daughter of Samantha and Darren LaVake, became the first athlete from St. Ignace to capture first place during the statewide NFL Punt-Pass-Kick contest. The 23rd annual event took place before the Detroit Lions game against the Cleveland Browns at Ford Field Sunday, November 22. The eighth grade student at the St. Ignace Middle School recorded 213'1" to outdistance the runner-up competitor with 187'10" in the 12-13 girls’ age division.
