It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! The tree is in place, the decorations are up, and the lights actually worked this year.

Condolences to the family of Gilbert Matchinske of Engadine, who passed away Friday morning, December 4, at his residence. Gilbert was a hard worker and well known to many in the area. Please keep his family in your prayers.

There will be Christmas and holiday music featuring Jamie-Sue Seal and John Latini, Friday, December 18, at 7:30 p.m. at the Erickson Center in Curtis. Ticket donations are $10. For ticket information, call (906) 586-9974.

The Diabetic Support Group will meet Thursday, December 10, from noon to 2 p.m. in the Huron Conference room at Helen Newberry Joy Hospital in Newberry. Lunch will be provided.

Santa Claus is coming to town. Children can give their letters and talk to Santa Saturday, December 12, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Veterans Hall in Engadine. Hot chocolate and goodies will be provided by the Feneley, McNeil, Nesbit Post 290.

The American Legion Post 290 and VFW Post 8372 will have its Christmas party Saturday, December 12, at the Veterans Hall in Engadine. Cocktails are at 5 p.m., followed by dinner at 6 p.m. Please bring a dish to pass.

There will be a Christmas concert, presented by the All Faith Adult and Children's Choir, Sunday, December 13, at 7 p.m. at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church on M- 117, just north of Engadine.
