Weekend Events Begin Christmas Season at St. Ignace


The St. Ignace Children's Chorus sings "Kris Kringle" and a different version of a holiday favorite, titled "Hark! Harold the Angel Sings," at the annual Christmas Musicale Saturday night, December 5, at the United Methodist Church. People attended from all congregations in the community to enjoy Christmas music performed by several choirs and individuals. The congregation's offering, which will all be donated to the St. Ignace Area Hope charity, totaled $1,067. Performers at the musicale this year included Lina Cheeseman, Lydia Brown, Jenny Campbell, Maureen Brady, Gene Perry, Shannon Handyside, Billy Milford, Emma and Sandy Feleppa, Ken Guillard, Joe and Kristin Lenoir, Margaret Madagame, The I Got "VonTrapped" Family Singers, St. Ignace Children's Chorus, Immaculate Conception Church Choir, St. Ignace Youth Chamber Singers, LaSalle High School Jazz Band, and the Ecumenical Choir. The community celebration closed with a coffee and cookies reception in the church basement.
