There will be a Christmas holiday luncheon Friday, December 18, from 10:30 a.m. to noon in the basement of the Newberry Community Building. There will be free prize bingo and a 50/50 raffle, with lunch to follow at noon. Suggested donation is $5 per person age 60 and older and $7 for persons younger than age 60. Reservation deadline is Thursday, December 17. Takeouts will be available. For more information, call (906) 293-5621.

Everyone is welcome to the Manistique Lakes Lions Club allyou can-eat pancake brunch and bake sale Sunday, December 20, from 8:30 a.m. to noon at the community building in Curtis. Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children. Children age 10 and younger can enjoy a free breakfast and gifts with Santa.
Don't miss the holiday music featuring Jamie-Sue Seal and John Latini at the Erickson Center in Curtis, Friday, December 18, through Sunday, December 20, at 7:30 p.m. each evening. Tickets are $10.
Engadine school students will be on Christmas break Wednesday, December 23, through Friday, January 1. School will resume Monday, January 4.
We extend our thoughts and prayers to the family of lifelong Engadine resident Hildegarde "Hilda" Klobucher, 92, who passed away Wednesday afternoon, December 9. Hilda was a caring person, who was loved by all and will be deeply missed.
