Hildegarde ‘Hilda’ Klobucher

Hildegarde "Hilda" A. Klobucher, 92, of Engadine, died Wednesday afternoon, December 9, 2009, at the Luce County Annex in Newberry.

She was born August 10, 1917, in Engadine to August and Julianna (nee Pinno) Bessler.

She married Michael Klobucher August 31, 1940, in Engadine.

In addition to being a homemaker, Mrs. Klobucher was employed at Kings Motel in Naubinway for 20 years. She was the last continuous charter member of the Boucha- Draves-Raski VFW Post 8372 Ladies Auxiliary, serving as past president and also holding the office of conductress for more than 35 years. She chaired the annual hunters’ dinner for 25 years. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Engadine and her hobbies included sewing, quilting, knitting, and crocheting, but she enjoyed baking the most.

Mrs. Klobucher is survived by two children and their families, Paula and Paul Fillman and Michael and Rae Marie Klobucher, all of Engadine; two grandchildren, Jo- Ann Klobucher of International Falls, Minnesota, and Michael Klobucher of Engadine; siblings Lillian Armstrong of Newberry, Ethel Price of Newberry, Leona Howland of Elk Grove Village, Illinois, Marie Phillips of Orland Park, Illinois, Paul Bessler of Newberry, and Richard Bessler of Viroqua, Wisconsin, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Klobucher was preceded in death by her husband, Michael, in 1975; a daughter, Joan, and a sister, Mildred Polczynski.

Friends called at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Engadine Saturday, December 12, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. A memorial was conducted by the VFW Post 8372 Ladies Auxiliary at 5 p.m., followed by services at the church with Pastor Arthur Bode officiating. Interment will take place at Engadine Cemetery in Engadine.

Beaulieu Funeral Home in Newberry assisted the family with arrangements.
