$9,500 To Benefit Youth at Les Cheneaux

Les Cheneaux Community Foundation grants in the amount of $9,500 for programs to benefit young people were presented Monday, December 14, during the Les Cheneaux Community Schools high school band concert in Cedarville. Grants that involved the school and youth activities were presented at this event. Grant awards are as follows:
The high school band received a grant for $2,500 to go toward an upcoming trip to Carnegie Hall. This money is granted from both YAC and the Community Foundation.
The business trades program was awarded $1,000 to construct a wood storage shed for the school.
A grant of $500 was given to the Tech Media class to support their program.
A grant of $2,400 was given as seed money to promote and advance wellness activities identified by the school’s Health Advisory Board. The activities are aimed at improving the health and wellness of the student body.
The school received a grant of $2,500 to initiate innovative teaching and learning through the arts, known as the Leading Edge Academy.
A grant of $500 was given to provide an athletic memorial fund in the name of student Anthony Lee.
