The DeTour Elementary School Student Council spent some of the final days of school before the break getting the canned goods, hats, and mittens ready to be delivered to families in our area. Kathy Woodward reports that donations are needed throughout the year. Anyone can make donations by calling Kathy at (906) 297-5201.

Area churches have announced schedules for the holidays. Wilderness Tabernacle will maintain its regular Sunday services. Union Presbyterian Church will have a candlelight Christmas Eve service at 8 p.m. December 24. St. Stephens Episcopal Church will hold services at 11:30 a.m. Christmas day. DeTour Christian Service will be at 6:30 p.m. Christmas Eve, December 24. Services at Sacred Heart Church will be 4 p.m. Christmas Eve and at 4 p.m. New Year's Eve. This is the only church planning a New Years service. St. Stanislas and St. Florence churches will have services at 6 p.m. Christmas Eve and 11 a.m. Christmas Day, respectively.
