I hope the new year will bring peace and joy to all of you.

There will be an infant and toddler play group and storytime Saturday, January 9, from 11 a.m. to noon at the Engadine Library. This is always a fun time for the children and their parents. Librarian Janice Wagner does a wonderful job organizing everything at the library.

Music in the Center, featuring Ann and Will Rowland, will be Saturday, January 9, at 7 p.m. at the Erickson Center in Curtis. Tickets will be available at the door for a $5 donation.

The Tahquamenon Country Sled Dog Race at Rainbow Lodge, north of Newberry, will be Saturday, January 9. The Newberry Snow X Race will also be Saturday, January 9, at 9:30 a.m. at Zellars Meadows, west of M-123 in Newberry. Registration for the snowmobile races will be Friday, January 8, at 7 p.m. at Zellars Village Inn.

Condolences to the family and friends of lifelong area resident Reverend Audrey Dunlap, 86, who passed away Wednesday morning, December 23. She was a wonderful, kind woman. An obituary is published in this issue of The St. Ignace News.
