St. Ignace
It was great to receive a phone call from Phillip Therrian of Midland. He says hello to friends in St. Ignace. Phillip grew up on Pte. LaBarbe Road.
Belated birthday greetings December 25 to Jerry Colegrove, who celebrated with his family at the home of his parents, Louie and Phyllis Colegrove.
Angel Food Ministries is a new low-cost food program that started in December, with pick-up at the Catholic Center. This program is open to everyone, with no income requirements. Orders are due Wednesday, January 13, with pickup Saturday, January 23. Interested persons may order at First National Bank drive-in branch on North State Street. For more information, call Kathy Lawnichak at 643-7185 or Mary Swiderski at 643-1565.
Preschool story time is every Thursday at 3:30 p.m. at the St. Ignace Public Library. There is no charge.
A few weeks ago, Richard Rapin of Pennsylvania was in St. Ignace visiting sisters, Louise Kelly and Dorothy Schlehuber. An 88th birthday party honoring Mr. Rapin was held, and 17 Rapin family members attended. Lots of good conversation and laughter was enjoyed by all.
American Red Cross volunteer Vic Enos draws donated blood from Bonnie Flinn of St. Ignace Tuesday, December 22, at a blood drive at Kewadin Casino. Mrs. Flinn received a pin Tuesday in recognition of the fact she has donated seven gallons of blood to the Red Cross over the years. Volunteers reported that 32 people came during the blood drive to donate and that 27 of those qualified and donated.

Joycelyn Lee selects a treat from among many provided by St. Ignace Moose Lodge 999 at its children's Christmas party Saturday, December 19. Parents relaxed while their children enjoyed the toys, games, and refreshments provided by the lodge.
Wayne Therrian and his son, Josh, of Holland, Michigan, are spending time in St. Ignace with Wayne’s parents, Dick and Darlene Therrian. They plan to do some skiing.
