Miss Johnson is a 2000 graduate of LaSalle High School and is employed by Escanaba Public Schools.

Mr. Wender is the son of Gary and Paula Wender of Iron Mountain. He was graduated from Kingsford High School in Kingsford. He is also employed by Escanaba Public Schools.

A wedding is planned July 17, 2010, at Kewadin Casino in St. Ignace.
