Of 72 entries in the Straits Area Sportsmen’s Club Big Buck Contest, the winner was Tim Schlehuber with a nine-point buck, earning a $190 cash prize. The top three winners received cash prizes, while others received items or gift certificates from local businesses.

Taking second place and a $125.40 cash prize was Dennis McPherson with an eight-point buck. Bruce Bigger, Sr. took third place and $64.60 cash prize with his eight-point buck.

The following hunters also entered eight-point bucks: Todd Preseau, Larry Schlehuber, and Louis Colegrove.

Entries of seven-point bucks were Dave Thompson, Mike Peters, and Jeremey Peters.

Robert Colegrove entered a sixpoint buck.

Entering five-point bucks were John Cook, Lewis Mullins, and Don Tamlyn.

Carol Colegrove shot a fourpoint buck.

Boyd Bigger, Jr. won the door prize.
