Richard Radomski
Richard J. Radomski, 77, of DeTour Village, was a Korean War veteran who worked as a bricklayer. Mr. Radomski died Monday, December 14, 2009, at his home.
He was born June 22, 1932, in Detroit, to Alexander and Anna (nee Grycza) Radomski.
Mr. Radomski, a resident of DeTour since 1999, was known to his DeTour friends by the nickname “Hollywood.”
From childhood until 1999, he lived in the Detroit area, where he worked as a bricklayer until 1992. He was a member of the Bricklayers Union Local 1. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was a member of the VFW.
He loved boating, golfing, and fishing, and said he considered living in DeTour “living in heaven.” He was a giving and caring person, friends said.
Mr. Radomski is survived by one son, David Radomski of DeTour Village; two daughters and their families, Karen and Al Ciolino and Paula and Michael Nevin, all of Shelby Township; eight grandchildren, Al, Breana, Enzo, Nina, Natalie, Sean, Jessica, and Kaitlyn; his former wife, Vitina Contrastato Radomski, and one sister, Sr. Patricia Radomski.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Gerald Radomski.
Services were Thursday, December 17, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in DeTour Village. Visitation was from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Mass was at 3 p.m. with Father George Vaniyepurackal officiating.
Reamer Galer Funeral Home in Pickford assisted the family with arrangements.
