James and Alicia Schlehuber
Alicia Anne Thier of Covington, Louisiana, and James "Russ" Schlehuber of St. Ignace were united in marriage Saturday, December 5, 2009, on the beach of El Acuario Cay on San Andres Island in Colombia.
The bride is the daughter of Richard and Annette Thier of Covington.
The groom is the son of Jim and Cheryl Schlehuber of St. Ignace.
The bride wore a white taffeta, strapless, mermaid style dress with a small floral accent. She wore white verbena flowers in her hair and carried a bouquet of pink, peach, and red Colombian roses.
The bride is a graduate of Covington High School in Covington. She also was graduated from Southeast Missouri State University
on a gymnastics scholarship, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology and continued her education at the University of Missouri-St. Louis, where she received a Master of Education degree in counseling. She is employed as a human resources director at Escondido Union School District in the San Diego, California, area.
The groom was graduated from LaSalle High School in St. Ignace and the University of Montana, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration. He served four years in the United States Marine Corps. He is employed as a regional operations manager for U.S. Suites in San Diego.
The couple resides in Murrieta, California.
