Mr. Della-Moretta, who owns the Gold Mine jewelry store in St. Ignace with his wife, Yvonne, donated 10% of all purchases made at the store during the Christmas season to three local community projects, in total, $3,332.41 for the three causes. The St. Ignace after-school program and the St. Ignace food pantry also received donations, and customers chose which organization their dollars should go to. Mr. Della-Moretta said customers were happy to hear that a portion of the purchases they made were going to good causes. "We got a nice response from people," he said. "We are proud to be able to do it. The support from the community has been just fantastic."
