Sault Casino Donates to Area Hope
Twenty queen bed sets, 15 armoires, mirrors, tables, and two industrial laundry baskets were donated by Kewadin Casino in Sault Ste. Marie to St. Ignace Area Hope Wednesday, January 6. "We found out about the donation one night, and the next morning we were in the Sault picking it up," said Connie Litzner, operations administrator with Area Hope. "We are in such need for donations like this it will really help us out. It came right at a time of need, too." The items came from the casinos hotel, which is being updated. Donations also were made to the Sault Tribe’s Anishnabek Community & Family Services. "Any time we have extra items like these that are in good shape, we call area agencies we know who need them," said John Cleary, executive housekeeper. "It feels great to help out in that way and to know our items will be used by someone who needs it." Unloading items are Herb Brown (left) and Justin Litzner.
