Mary Beaudry

Mary Beaudry Mary Beaudry Mary Lou Beaudry, 66, of Kinross, died Tuesday, January 12, 2010, at War Memorial Hospital in Sault Ste. Marie, after an illness of cancer.

She was born October 18, 1943, in Pollard, Arkansas, the daughter of Walter Cecil and Verna Alta (nee Jarvis) Blackwell. She lived in Missouri as a young child and the family moved to Ypsilanti when she was 12 years old.

She married Robert James Beaudry November 14, 1959.

They lived in Ypsilanti and Saline, where their family grew up, until moving to Kinross in the mid 1970s, where they owned and operated B & D Country Market for about 10 years. They returned to Ypsilanti, both working at Eastern Michigan University until they retired. The couple returned to Kinross in 2004.

Mrs. Beaudry loved flowers and was continually adding new flowerbeds to her yard. She also enjoyed various crafts, including cross-stitch and embroidery projects. Christmas was her favorite holiday and every room in her house was decorated to celebrate the season. Mrs. Beaudry dearly loved her pets, Babe and Bennie.

She is survived by her husband, Robert; two sons and their families, Thomas and Tynne Beaudry of Cheboygan, and James Richard “Rick” Beaudry of Kinross; one daughter and her family, Cheryl and Orville Gregg of Ypsilanti; four grandchildren and their families, Ryan and Heather Beaudry, Preston Beaudry, Trevor Gregg, and Michelle and William Shields, and two great-grandchildren, Ashlynn Beaudry and Izabelle Shields.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Louise Hamilton and Avis Box, and three brothers, Doyle Blackwell, Lloyd Blackwell, and James Cecil Blackwell.

Services were Saturday, January 16, at Reamer Galer Funeral Home in Pickford. Visitation was from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. with the funeral at 4 p.m.

Burial will be in Kinross Township Lakeview Cemetery in the spring.
