Residents, visitors, and stamp collectors can attend an unveiling ceremony for the United States Postal Service's newest stamp, which commemorates the Mackinac Bridge. The program will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 3, at Bridge View Park.

The $4.90 priority mail stamp, designed by Chicago artist Dan Cosgrove, features a high-angle view of the Mackinac Bridge with seagulls flying above and beneath the five-mile span (See The St. Ignace News, December 31).

Wednesday's ceremony, hosted by the Michigan Department of Transportation, the Mackinac Bridge Authority, and the U.S. Postal Service, will unveil the new stamp, which will go on sale at post offices nationwide the same day.
