Jean Salter

Jean Salter, 65, passed away Friday, January 22, 2010, at her home in Engadine.

She was born August 14, 1944, the daughter of Hollis and Helen (nee Zenker) Marsh.

She was graduated from Newberry High School in 1962, and was employed by Newberry Mental Health Clinic.

She loved to travel, was an avid bowler, and enjoyed crafts. Mrs. Salter was involved with various church activities, and was a supporter of the Mud Hole Band.

Mrs. Salter is survived by her husband, Eugene, of Engadine; her children and their families, Stephen and Diana Garrod of Ohio, and Michael and Susie Garrod of Kewadin; eight grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.

She also is survived by siblings and their families, Fred and Lucille Kenyon Marsh of Curtis, Cindy and Neil Marsh of Newberry, Holly and Lawrence Fultz of Newberry, Lynn and Tom Bentele of Missouri, and John and Dawn Marsh of Newberry.

Visitation was Tuesday, January 26, from 4 p.m to 7 p.m. at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Newberry. Services were Wednesday, January 27, at 11 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in Engadine Cemetery in the spring.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Eugene Salter at P.O. Box 48, Engadine, Michigan 49827.
