Sophie Elliott, 91, of Bay City, died Tuesday, January 19, 2010.

She was born to Karl and Stella Ygeal and reared in Stalwart.

Mrs. Elliott worked at Chrysler Corporation in Detroit for 25 years, and, following retirement, lived in Essexville and at Sheffield Bay in Bay City.

She is survived by two siblings and their families, Michael and Joanne Ygeal of Livonia and Caroline Hank of Goetzville, and 12 nieces and nephews, Carole Grabowski, Benny Hank, Joseph Pokryfke, Elaine Quesada, Juli Sweet, Michael Schopp, Frances Towle, Connie Ygeal, Roger Ygeal, Karla Ygeal, Leo Ygeal, and Michele Zboch.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold Elliott; two brothers, John and Stanley Ygeal; two sisters, Lottie Pokryfke and Antoinette Ryktarsyk; and a sister-in-law, Reta Ygeal.

Services were Friday, January 22, at 3 p.m., at Penzien-Steele Funeral Home in Bay City, with visitation preceding the service.
