Mackinaw Mush Canceled

The Mackinaw Mush Dog Sled Race planned for February 6 and February 7 in Mackinaw City has been cancelled this year owing to mild weather, said Chuck Cullip of St. Ignace, president of the race organizing committee.

Mr. Cullip told The St. Ignace News Friday, January 29, the lack of snow would make the annual race difficult on the dogs, leading to the decision to cancel it. The race draws teams from all over the country. Mr. Cullip expected about 100 teams to join the race.
