Julia Archambeau, 88, of Engadine, died Sunday evening January 31, 2010, at the Luce County Annex in Newberry, where she had been residing since November 2006.

She was born June 9, 1921, in Engadine to Gustav and Augusta (nee Erdtmann) Drefs.

She married Raymond Archambeau November 1, 1950. Mrs. Archambeau was a devoted homemaker. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Engadine and enjoyed vegetable gardening and sewing.

She was survived by her husband, Raymond of Engadine; three children and their families, Debra and James Chrusciel of Lake Havasu, Arizona, James and Mary Archambeau of Newberry, and David and Kathy Archambeau of Gaylord; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, five stepgrandchildren, and 10 step-greatgrandchildren. She is also survived by four siblings and their families, John and Laura Drefs of Newberry, Paul and Dorothy Drefs of Escanaba, Ethel Freeman of Engadine, and Pauline Strom of Newberry.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and four sisters.

Graveside services will be Saturday, June 12, at 11 a.m. at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church Cemetery in Engadine with Pastor Arthur Bode and the Reverend Saundra Clark officiating.

Beaulieu Funeral Home in Newberry assisted the family with arrangements.
