The mid-winter quiet has settled over our tiny towns like a blanket. The amount of snow makes for fewer snowmobiles around on the weekends.

While shopping at a store in Florida recently, we happened upon Chuck and Doris Haapala of Naubinway, who were on their way for a short cruise.

We wish a speedy recovery to Connie Paquin, Evelyn Selby, and Al Spencer of Epoufette.

Condolences to Marge Weger and other family members on the passing of Marge’s brother, Jim Kerridge, who passed away Monday, February 1.

Evelyn Frazer, who was born the daughter of James and Cecilia Ryerse in Rexton, has passed away. She has a surviving brother, Joe, who resides in Germfask. Many longtime residents will remember the Ryerse family.

Junior and Darlene Shoemaker enjoyed a visit from their daughter, Hazel, who resides in Escanaba.
