Airman O’Brien Is Promoted
Antonio O'Brien has been identified for early promotion to senior air- man in the U.S. Air Force. The airman was awarded the new rank ahead of other Air Force members by a "Below-The-Zone" promotion board, which considered his time in grade, time in service, job performance, military knowledge, bearing, exceptional qualifications, self-improvement efforts, and best overall record.
The Below-the-Zone program provides an opportunity for exceptionally well-qualified airman first class to a one-time consideration for promotion to senior airman six months earlier than the norm. To be selected and considered for the promotion, an airman must meet specific requirements outlined in Air Force regulations and must be recommended by the commander.
Airman O'Brien is assigned to the 552nd Combat Crew Command, Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma, and has two years of military service.
He is the son of Patti O'Brien, and brother of Ned McLennan, both of St. Ignace.
He is a 2003 graduate of LaSalle High School.
