With brooms in hand, Mackinac Island adults team up against one another in broom ball play during Winter Festival activities Saturday, February 6, at Great Turtle Park. The bright fluorescent green softball occasionally was lost in the light, fluffy surface snow, adding to the challenge of the sport. Family activities took place at the park all day, including sledding, an egg hunt, snow bowling and golf, and a human dogsled race. Festival events moved to the school Sunday, where a brunch, games, and a calendar photograph contest completed the annual festival.
