‘Hooping for a Cure’ Game Set for February 25

The second annual "Hooping for a Cure" is set to tip off at LaSalle High School as host St. Ignace Saints and the Cheboygan Chiefs will tangle to benefit the Oncology Department for Mackinac Straits Health System Thursday, February 25.

Fans at the girls basketball match-up between two Straits Area Conference foes will enjoy a festive atmosphere that includes guest speakers, teams wearing pink and black uniforms, fans in pink Tshirts, silent auction, 50/50 raffle, and a tailgate picnic sponsored by the St. Ignace Kiwanis Club from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The picnic costs $5 for adults and $3 for youth ages five to 12.

T-shirts are available from the St. Ignace First National Bank Drive- In, St. Ignace Straits Area Credit Union, A&I Locker Room, and Citizens National Bank’s main office in Cheboygan.

Silent auction items can be donated and dropped off at First National Bank Drive-In Branch, in St. Ignace.

Jersey sponsors may be purchased for $100 from Kathy Marshall at St. Ignace Area Schools at 643-8145, extension 1. Sponsorship in honor of loved ones is available for $15.
