St. Ignace Pee Wees Win District Championship
The St. Ignace pee wee hockey team captured the eight-team district championship after posting a 5-0 record at Little Bear East Friday, February 5, Saturday, February 6, and Sunday, February 7.
In the championship game, St. Ignace defeated Cadillac 7-4 as Jack Styes scored two goals and one assist, and Dalton Lallier one goal and two assists. Alley Walkley, Zak Lasley, Austin Wachnicki, and Lukas Riordan recorded single goals. Austin Marshall had two assists, and Anne Eberts, Andrew Christian, and Tyler Allen had one assist each.
St. Ignace defeated Tawas 5-4 in the semifinals and in the opening round of the tourney downed Cadillac 2-1, Alpena 9-1, and Petoskey 13-1. No individual statistics were available for the first four games.
