City Worker Saves the Day for Travelers

To the Editor:

On Sunday, February 14, we were going south and the front tire on our car blew out. We sat for several minutes trying to call someone to come and tow us or change our tire. No service stations were open.

A young man who works for the City of St. Ignace stopped by with his plow truck and verified what we already found out: No service stations available on Sunday to do road service.

Without hesitation, he said, “Where's your jack, I can change it," and he did. He put everything back in the trunk when he was done and we were all set to go.

The young man would not accept any compensation, he just said, "Enjoy our city and have a good day," and left.

We did not get the young man’s name, but perhaps you can find out who he was and thank him again for us. And let the people of St. Ignace know how very fortunate they are to have employees of his caliber working for their city.

Thank you.

Editor’s Note: The city plow driver was Bill Fraser.
