A 39-year-old man from Dansville was pronounced dead at Helen Newberry Joy Hospital Friday night, February 26, after apparently losing control of his snowmobile and crashing into several trees near Curtis, according to the Mackinac County Sheriff's Office.

Clifford Corrette III had just unloaded his snowmobile from a trailer on a road near Curtis and rode the vehicle a short distance before turning around and then crashing into the trees, deputies reported.

Mr. Corrette was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
