There was a crowd at Trinity Lutheran Church fellowship hall Friday, March 5, for the last lunch. We all enjoyed the Mexican menu presented by Pega Kennedy and other volunteers.

Dot Glashaw has been skating twice a week at Little Bear East Arena in St. Ignace.

Joyce and Tom Gustafson, Pega and John Kennedy, Sharon and Joe Chalmers, and Gayle and Charlie Lamoreaux enjoyed dining out Friday evening, March 5, in St. Ignace.

David, Jr., Tracy, Dave, and I enjoyed an evening out to celebrate my birthday Thursday, March 4.

Sharon Chalmers, Joyce Gustafson, Jerri Rose, and Pega Kennedy meet at the Fat Farm in Brevort to quilt, cut, sew, and visit.

The Trinity Lutheran Church congregation voted unanimously to invite pastoral candidate Jeremy Winter to come to Trinity and Zion Lutheran Church to serve as our pastor.

Pega Kennedy has distributed tickets for the quilt raffle, in honor of the 100th anniversary of Trinity Lutheran Church. Any member of Trinity will have tickets for sale.

Ted Booker, a new reporter at The St. Ignace News, came to Brevort Friday, March 5, to interview various Swedish-Americans concerning the Michigan Heritage Award. He also attended the Friday lunch at the fellowship hall.

The weather has been mild. We met Joe Chalmers walking the beach Saturday, March 6. We didn’t see open water for many days, but Saturday evening the southwest wind blew all of the ice chunks to the shore.

Russ and Susie Nesberg are painting the inside of the White Tail restaurant.

The hens are laying eggs at the Rogers’ farm again. The family is busy gathering sap from the sugar maples.

Jack and Thora Shepard report two cardinals at their bird feeders this week.

Mark Spencer, the elder, celebrated his 75th birthday March 7. Guests were Doug and Wilda Henderson, Marge and Bill Borland, Elmer and Shirley Bowers, Tammy Spencer, and Mark Spencer, the younger. Happy birthday, Mark.

Mary Carney and Warren Cunningham have returned from a three-week trip to southern areas. They visited with Warren’s brother in Columbus, Ohio, then Jim and Steve Bartlett in North Carolina. Warren and Mary stayed in Foley, Alabama, where they would walk to fishing pier at Gulf Shores to watch the fishermen. Another favorite stop was Darien, Georgia. Mary is feeling so much better after all her travails the past two years.

It was nice to see Billy Milford at lunch Friday, March 5, at Trinity. Please keep Billy in your thoughts and prayers as he undergoes more treatment for his cancer in the coming week.

Condolences to friends and family of Geraldine “Geri” Hetsler, who passed away Friday, February 19.

Happy birthday to Dave Movalson and Sandy Litzner March 19, Anne Anderson March 20, Anne Movalson March 23, and Warren Cunningham and Marge Borland March 24.
