Condolences to the family of Edalor "Ed" Hins, 72, of Naubinway, who passed away Sunday, February 28. Ed was a kind and wonderful man who will be greatly missed. Please keep his wife, Karen, and their family in your thoughts and prayers. An obituary for Mr. Hins is published in this issue of The St. Ignace News.
Families, friends, and children are welcome to a fundraiser Saturday, March 13, from 2 p.m to 6 p.m. at the Eagles Club Aeries 3701 in Newberry. Monies raised will help keep the Luce County Community Resource and Recreation Center open for all local youth.
There will be a presentation of the Portage Players Friday, March 19, and Saturday, March 20, at 7 p.m. at the Erickson Center in Curtis. It is guaranteed to be a fun evening filled with skits, jokes, and music featuring Jeff Guenther and Dan Flesher. Ticket donation is $10 for adults and $8 for children age 12 and younger.

The 28th Annual Woodchoppers Ball is Saturday, March 20, at the American Legion Hall on M-123 in Newberry. Dinner tickets are $10 and must be purchased by Friday, March 19. For tickets, call Don or Thelma Kimbler at (906) 293-3818 or Rose Anderson at (906) 293-5777.
