Alice Girard of Cheboygan has been named the Team Member of the Year at Kewadin Shores Casino in St. Ignace.

Ms. Girard, a front desk employee, was chosen by her peers for this award and received a personal plaque, $200, entertainment tickets, dinner, and a hotel stay. She is also named on a plaque displayed in each casino.

She began working with the casino hotel in August 2008.

"Alice is the anchor of the front desk,” said Lisa Sawruk, Kewadin St. Ignace hotel manager. “She works great under pressure, works well with others, and will do anything for anyone.”

According to employees working with her, it is not just one thing that makes her the team member of the year, it’s her work performance every day that makes her the best.

“She is what every Kewadin employee should be,” said Steve Sprecker, casino manager. “Alice goes out of her way with everything that she does. Alice loves her job and it shows.”
