Richard Sagear Richard Sagear Richard Allen Sagear, 73, of Cedarville, died Monday, March 1, 2010, in Sault Ste. Marie.

He was born May 9, 1936, in La Crosse, Wisconsin, to Raymond William and Hazel Rose (nee Smith) Sagear.

Mr. Sagear grew up in La Crosse, where he was graduated from Central High School in 1954. He worked at Trane, a global heating, ventilating, and cooling company, for his entire career.

He married Jacqueline Lee Fioravanti September 18, 1982, in La Crosse.

After he retired, he and his wife moved to the Eastern Upper Peninsula in 2001 to be near her parents.

He was a member of the Moose Lodge, Knights of Columbus, 25 Year Club at Trane Company, and Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church. He was an active volunteer at Cedar Post Thrift Shop in Cedarville, serving as assistant treasurer.

Mr. Sagear enjoyed traveling, square dancing, deer and duck hunting, fishing, camping, bowling, golfing, playing cards, and bingo. He was always pleasant and diplomatic, friends said, and was known for his negotiating skills.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter and her family, Arlene and David Lueck of La Crosse; a son and his family, Paul and Sylvia Sagear of Huntley, Illinois; two stepsons and their families, Mark and Sue Molstad of Onalaska, Wisconsin, and Kevin Molstad of La Crosse; four granddaughters and their families, Andrea and Ross Auna, Stephanie Lueck, Teresa Lueck, and Sheila Sagear; and his former wife, Kathryne Humbel of LaCrosse.

Mr. Sagear was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Gail Sagear; and a stepson, Jeffrey Molstad.

Services were Friday, March 5, at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church in Hessel. A gathering time was from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. with mass at 3 p.m.

A memorial will also be held in La Crosse at a later date.

Reamer Galer Funeral Home in Pickford assisted the family with arrangements.
