Mackinac Island Will Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day
A celebration of St. Patrick’s Day called Lá Fhéile Pádraig Weekend will be offered on Mackinac Island beginning Wednesday, March 17, at the Village Inn, Mustang Lounge, and Patrick Sinclair's Irish Pub, where traditional Irish food will be served. Mary McGuire will be performing traditional Irish and contemporary Irish music at the Irish Pub from 6 p.m to 8 p.m.
Saturday, March 20, events include a pig roast at noon on the street in front of Patrick Sinclair's Irish Pub. Jamie Bynoe, an avid hockey enthusiast, has organized his annual St. Patrick's Day Street Hockey Tournament on Main Street outside of the Irish Pub. The game starts at 12:30 p.m. and all are welcome to join.
Detroit Rock veteran Chris Brantley will entertain on the Island both Friday and Saturday night. He has performed and recorded with some of the top bands in Detroit, including Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels, Barbara Payton, The Reefermen, The Butler Twins, and the Curtis Sumpter Project.
