Mackinac County’s Michigan State University Extension Office and HOME of Mackinac County are collaborating to offer free monthly financial management workshops beginning Tuesday, March 23, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the St. Ignace Middle School Library. The first session will cover basic budgeting strategies.

The workshops will meet the last Thursday of every month starting in April and concluding in November. Participants are encouraged to attend all nine sessions, but can also pick and choose any session of interest.

The remaining monthly topics are Making Spending Choices April 29; Planning Your Spending May 27; Envelope Budgeting June 24; Checks and Checking Accounts July 29; Understanding Credit August 26; Handling Credit Problems September 30; Building Consumer Skills October 28, and Taking Consumer Action November 18.
