Veterans Donate Flag to LaSalle

A new American flag is flying at LaSalle High School, a gift to the school from Thomas F. Grant Post 62 of the American Legion in St. Ignace. Fall and winter winds had taken a toll on the old flag, said Don Gustafson (center), school principal. “The Legion has always been a good partner with the school on a lot of events and we appreciate their purchase of a flag for us so that we can continuously display the flag,” he said. Presenting the five-foot-by-eight-foot flag to Mr. Gustafson Tuesday, February 23, are Norman Smith (left), finance officer at the post, and Dave Walker, post vicecommander.
