Geraldine F. Hetsler, 92, died Friday, February 19, 2010, at Mackinac Straits Hospital following a lingering illness.

She was born December 17, 1917, in St. Ignace to Alfred and Anna (nee Sorenson) L’Huillier.

Mrs. Hetsler was graduated from LaSalle High School, and retired from J.L. Hudson Company in Detroit, where she worked in the corset department as a corsetier. She also worked for the Willow Run Bomber plant during World War II.

She was married to Fred Hetsler, and he died in 1990.

Mrs. Hetsler moved back to St. Ignace in 1995, after living in Detroit for 40 years.

She was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in St. Ignace, where she was confirmed in 1929. She also was active in the LCW.

Mrs. Hetsler is survived by several cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Carol L’Huillier, who died in 1996.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 20, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in St. Ignace. Services will be at 11 a.m. with Pastor George Kaiser officiating. A luncheon will be served following the services.

Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery at a later date.

Dodson Funeral Home in St. Ignace assisted the family with arrangements.
