(Photograph by Bridgett Sorenson) The St. Ignace Squirts B hockey team finished runner-up in the state tournament with a 2-2-1 record at Walker Ice Arena in Grand Rapids Friday, March 12, through Sunday, March 14. The team is sponsored by George's Body Shop.

Winners of the Bridge Brawl at St. Ignace this season and of the Cabin Fever tournament at Sault Ste. Marie, the team had a 43-2-1 record this year.

St. Ignace advanced to the championship game with a 7-2 win over the Novi Predators in the semifinals.

Statistics: Hunter Frazier, three goals, one assist; Sawyer Kulman, two goals, one assist; Kody Rickley, one goal, one assist; Andy Metz, one assist. Nick O’Brien was goalie during the tournaments.

In the championship game, St. Ignace lost a 4-3 overtime heartbreaker to the Iron River Ice Hawks.

During the preliminary games, St. Ignace lost to Iron River 4-3, defeated Allen Park 7-6, and tied with Grand Rapids 2-2.
